Landscape/Portrait is collaboration between lead Kevin Carter, Media 19, Karin Coetzee and the University of Teesside.

The project allows community members to create and presents video self-portraits online and compares them with the demographic stereotype that exist for their postcode area, in the process of archiving these portraits a unique view of the region, its people, places and communities is created.

Landscape/Portrait is a collaborative online tool. Its users are UK communities and artists who wish to explore notions and construction of identity provided by demographics in collaboration with the lead artist. The work was conceived as an open social sampling project, a social tool which allows users and artist to embark on a guided investigation of the project themes, both offline and online.
